Mythology #02. Astronomical Secrets of the Magic Piper
Fairytales, folklore, legends and myths carry the cultural beliefs of the pre-scientific world. Unpredictable weather events and unexplainable natural occurrences were rationalized with mystical forces; faeries and elves, gods and goddesses, angels and demons.
An enduring myth centered in Caithness in the North Highlands of Scotland tells of the Piper of Windy ha' venturing to the Fairy world. Within the structure of this story a set of precise astronomical conditions are embedded which bring this folk story firmly into reality.
